DOUBLE JEOPARDY - HORVAT FOR 200

With a power play goal on Jan. 14 at FLA, Bo Horvat registered his 200th career NHL goal in his 614th regular season game, becoming the sixth fastest player to reach this milestone in franchise history (fourth-fastest among players who started their career with the Canucks). The goal was also Horvat's 30th of the season, solidifying consecutive season with 30 or more goals (posting 31-21-52 in 70 GP in 2021.22) to become the first Canuck since Daniel Sedin in 2010.11 & 2011.12 to achieve this feat. Horvat is only one of five active NHLers to break 30 goals this season and ranks t-4th in the NHL for goals.

  • Horvat's goal on Jan. 14 at FLA is his 30th goal in 42 games, ranking him fourth in franchise history for most goals in the team's first 42 games of the season (trailing Pavel Bure [38] in 1992.93, Alexander Mogilny [34] in 1995.96, and Markus Naslund [31] in 2002.03).

  • The power play goal on Jan. 14 at FLA was Horvat's 11th of the season and he now ranks t-6th in the NHL for most power play goals.

TYLER FINDS TWINE

Opening the second period scoring on Jan. 14 at FLA, Tyler Myers scored his first goal of the season to snap a 66-game goal-less streak. Myers scored that goal just 39 seconds into the period, becoming only the fourth Canucks defenceman to score a goal within the first 39 seconds of a period joining Kevin McCarthy (0:19 of P2 on March 8, 1983), Rick Lanz (0:32 of P2 on Nov. 11, 1985) and Ed Jovanovski (0:36 of P2 on Dec. 21, 2000).

• Tyler Myers also registered seven shots on goal on Jan. 14 at FLA to match his career high for the second consecutive game (also Jan. 12 at TBL).

QUICK QUINN

Thanks to his third period goal and assist on Jan. 12 at TBL, Quinn Hughes reached and surpassed the 200-point mark in his career (22-179-201) in just his 242nd NHL game, becoming the fastest defenceman in franchise history to ever reach this milestone, doing so in 106 fewer games than the next closest Canucks defenceman (Jyrki Lumme - 348 GP). Hughes is also the third-fastest active NHL defenceman to the mark behind only Cale Makar (195 GP) and Adam Fox (241 GP).

ROAD READY HUGHES

Posting a goal and two assists on Jan. 12 at TBL, Quinn Hughes collected his 19th career multi-point game on the road, tying Kevin Bieksa for sixth-most occurrences by a defenceman in franchise history. In those 19 games, Hughes has amassed 45 points (2.33 points per game), the highest points per game average among defenceman with 10 or more multi-point road games in Canucks history.

MR. 300

Recording his first of two assists Jan. 5 versus Colorado, Oliver Ekman-Larsson recorded his 300th career assist. He became the ninth player and fourth defenceman from the 2009 draft class to record at least 300 career assists.

HOW ABOUT THAT HORVAT

On Jan. 3 at NYI, Bo Horvat registered his ninth game with 2+ goals this season, to lead all NHL skaters. He also became the first Canuck since Ryan Kesler (9) in 2010.11 to post as many multi-goal performances in a single season. Horvat now has 28 career multi- goal games, passing Petri Skriko and Thomas Gradin for sole possession of eight place in that category in franchise history.

• On Dec. 27 vs SJS, Horvat recorded two goals and two assists for the second consecutive game, becoming the first Canuck to register 4+ points in back-to-back games since 2002.03 (Markus Naslund, Todd Bertuzzi, and Brendan Morrison each did so Feb. 23-25).

NO FLUKE FOR LUKE

Canucks defenceman Luke Schenn appeared in his 900th career regular season game on Jan. 3 vs NYI, becoming the sixth player and only the fourth defenceman from the 2008 draft class to reach the milestone joining fellow first-round selections Drew Doughty (D), Josh Bailey (RW), Steven Stamkos (C), John Carlson (D), and Alex Pietrangelo (D).

• Recording five hits on Dec. 29 at WPG, Luke Schenn became the first defenceman to reach 3,000 career hits. He currently leads all skaters in the NHL in hits this season (196 in 42 GP). Previously, on Dec. 3 vs ARI, Luke Schenn claimed the NHL all-time record for most hits by a defenceman (2,948), surpassing Brooks Orpik (2,946), and is now ranked sixth all-time among all skaters. *The NHL began tracking hits in 2005.06.

2022 YEAR IN REVIEW

  • Elias Pettersson led the Canucks in scoring for the calendar year of 2022 with 95 points (43-52-95 in 81 GP), besting J.T. Miller (34-60-94 in 83 GP) by just one point.

  • J.T. Miller posted the most power play points among Canucks skaters in 2022 with 37 (11-26-37).

  • Bo Horvat led all Canucks in goals in 2022 with 46 and is the sixth different player in franchise history to score at least 46 goals in a calendar year, joining Pavel Bure (2x), Tony Tanti (2x), Darcy Rota, Markus Naslund, and Todd Bertuzzi.

  • Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Luke Schenn tied for the most games played by a Canucks skater in 2022 with 85 GP.

  • Quinn Hughes led the Canucks for most assists in 2022 (64 in 76 GP) and ranked fourth in the League among defencemen in this category.

EXCEPTIONAL ELIAS

Scoring on Jan. 12 at TBL, Elias Pettersson registered his 18th goal of the season, with all 18 having come at even-strength. Pettersson ranks t-9th in the NHL in even-strength goals and is the only player with 14+ tallies to have scored all of his goals at even- strength.

  • Registering two assists on Jan. 14 at FLA, Pettersson hit 52 points this season in his 16th multi-point game. Pettersson is the sixth centreman in the NHL to break 52 points and is currently ranked tied fifth for points (among centremen).

  • Tallying two goals and three assists, in addition to the shootout winner, on Dec. 22 vs SEA, Pettersson registered his second five-point outing of the season and the fourth such occasion in his career, setting a new Canucks franchise record. The previous mark was held by Alexander Mogilny with three five-point games.

MIKHEYEV'S MOVES

With one goal and three assists on Dec. 27 vs SJS, Ilya Mikheyev set a new career high for most points in a single game (4), with his previous record of three points coming in March of this year (Mar. 3 vs WPG - 1-2-3). Mikheyev also extended his point streak against the Sharks, now recording nine points (4-5-9) in just four career games vs San Jose.
